Discontinued Mars chocolate coming to back to UK shelves in weeks after 11 years

MARS has announced the comeback of a beloved snack that has not been seen on shelves in over 10 years.
The choc brand has told shoppers that white chocolate Maltesers will be making a return this summer.
The snack is expected to return to supermarkets and independent stores on the 16 June, giving fans less than a month to wait.
And you can expect to see the delight in both fun sized and sharing brands.
It comes after shoppers have been pleading with the brand for years to bring the treat back.
The treat first launched in 2003 but was taken off shelves back in 2014.

A fourth even went as far to say their "eyes fill with tears" when they think about the snack.
Clare Moulder, Maltesers Senior Brand Manager said: "We’re delighted bring Maltesers White Chocolate back for the passionate fans who have been anticipating their return for years.
"Maltesers is all about encouraging people to look on the light side of life and so definitely try them if you’ve not done before.”
White Maltesers were originally launched as a seasonal product but became so popular that they began being sold all year round.
It has been reported that they were discontinued due low sales but many chocolate lovers were devastated to see the end of their run.
In 2017 was started to bring the sweet treat back.
The petition's creator had hoped to garner 2,500 signatures of support but as of March 2024 only 1,637 had signed the campaign.
Variations of the snack have reappeared since including Maltesers seasonal white chocolate reindeer's at Christmas and bunnies for Easter

The new chocolate bars will hit the shelves in June and will be available throughout the summer period.
However, in less favourable news the brand also confirmed it axed it's Fry's Coffee Cream bars.
Why are products axed or recipes changed?

ANALYSIS by chief consumer reporter James Flanders.
Food and drinks makers have been known to tweak their recipes or axe items altogether.
They often say that this is down to the changing tastes of customers.
There are several reasons why this could be done.
For example, government regulation, like the "sugar tax," forces firms to change their recipes.
Some manufacturers might choose to tweak ingredients to cut costs.
They may opt for a cheaper alternative, especially when costs are rising to keep prices stable.
For example, Tango Cherry disappeared from shelves in 2018.
It has recently returned after six years away but as a sugar-free version.
Fanta removed sweetener from its sugar-free alternative earlier this year.
Suntory tweaked the flavour of its flagship Lucozade Original and Orange energy drinks.
While the amount of sugar in every bottle remains unchanged, the supplier swapped out the sweetener aspartame for sucralose.
