Read on below for Spreadex Sports' 2025 US Open tennis betting preview with the latest fixed odds and spread betting prices ahead of the tournament, as well as everything else you need to know before the final Grand Slam tournament of the season in New York City, where Italian world number one Jannik Sinner will be aiming to defend his title in the men's draw, while Aryna Sabalenka will be looking to also defend her crown on the women's side.
It is expected to be a hugely competitive and exciting tournament with plenty of contenders with strong cases for potential success, especially on the men's side with the likes of last year's semi-finalist and British hope Jack Draper, 2022 champion Carlos Alcaraz, American home-hopes Ben Shelton and 2024 losing finalist Taylor Fritz, and Novak Djokovic still desperately chasing a record 25th Grand Slam.
On the women's side, a resurgent Iga Swiatek will be looking to follow up her success at Wimbledon and most recently Cincinnati, while USA's French Open champion and 2023 US Open winner Coco Gauff will fancy her chances, and Emma Raducanu will shoulder British hopes at the venue where she shot to superstardom with glory back in 2021, before her relative struggles since then.

The fourth and final Grand Slam on the tennis calendar gets underway on Sunday 24th August 2025 and finishes on Sunday 7th September 2025 at Flushing Meadows (officially the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center), New York. This year's event will be the 145th edition of this famous tournament with the first edition held way back in 1884!
It features three main stadiums: Arthur Ashe Stadium, Louis Armstrong Stadium, and the Grandstand. The complex as a whole has 22 courts inside the main area and 12 more in the adjoining park. Arthur Ashe Stadium, named after the late, pioneering former player and three-time Grand Slam champion, is the largest tennis stadium in the world, with a capacity of 23,771. Which players will be lifting the winner's trophies on that court at the end of the fortnight?
World number one and defending champion Jannik Sinner begins the tournament at 11/10, but the Italian's readiness may be in question in the lead-up to the tournament if there are any lingering after-effects of his illness in Ohio. However, if Sinner returns to top form and condition, he will be the definitive favourite on his favoured hard courts to defend his title and secure his third Grand Slam trophy of 2025.
World number two Carlos Alcaraz arrives in New York off the back of another Masters trophy at the Cincinnati Open, albeit won in disappointing fashion with rival Sinner retiring at 0-5 in the first set of the highly-anticipated final, but the win was a perfect warm-up and tonic as the Spaniard hopes to re-assert himself in the H2H battle with his Italian rival after defeat in the Wimbledon final and to boost his hopes of reclaiming the number one ranking at the end of this season. He starts at 2/1 to win his second US Open title.
24-time Grand Slam champion and 4-time US Open winner Novak Djokovic cannot be totally discounted at the venue where he last won a Major in 2023, even at the age of 38, but his physical capabilities do seem to be waning in the latter stages of a two-week grind in the Grand Slam format. In what will surely be one of his final chances to secure the record-breaking 25th Major crown, at odds of 12/1, those backing the old guard for a last hurrah may see this as a value punt.
Britain's Jack Draper is priced up at 18/1, and with a seeding of fifth, Draper will be confident of a strong run with a relatively easier draw than he faced in his run to the semi-finals last year, but the pressure will be on to defend most if not all of those ranking points. It's also unclear of Draper's form and condition coming into the tournament after an injury break for an arm complaint, although the Brit has insisted the issue was 'not overly serious' and the rest time may actually be a bonus if he can quickly get up to speed - with this preparation likely to be aided by his participation in the short-form mixed doubles event before the tournament-proper.
USA will feel as confident as they have in many a year of a potential home winner in 2025 with the rise of the explosive and ever-improving lefty Ben Shelton, who has surged up the rankings into the top-10 and is a former semi-finalist at Flushing Meadows, equipped with a monster serve which he will hope can push him to become the first US winner of a Grand Slam since Andy Roddick here at the US Open in 2003. Shelton is priced at 22/1.
The other major hopeful of the US contingent will be 2024 finalist Taylor Fritz, who was defeated by Sinner in straight-sets 6-3 6-4 7-5 and will be aiming to have a chance at revenge this year, although the Californian has had an up-and-down run of form during the US hard court swing since reaching the semi-finals at Wimbledon this summer. Fritz also comes in as a 20/1 shot.
Other notable contenders include 2020 finalist and current world number three Alexander Zverev, and former world number one and 2021 US Open winner Daniil Medvedev. Young rising stars like Miami champion Jakub Mensik and Brazilian teen talent Joao Fonseca - who won the Junior US Open in 2023 - will also be looking to make a splash in New York. At 80/1, would you back the Brazilian as a dark horse?

Women's world number one Aryna Sabalenka may have fallen short in the French Open final and suffered a shock defeat to Amanda Anisimova at Wimbledon, but she will arrive at Flushing Meadows as the consensus top player on hard courts and as a 11/4 shot to retain her US Open crown.
Former world number one Iga Swiatek of Poland has had a recent resurgence after a period of relative struggles compared to her lofty standards, and may be the player with the most momentum coming into New York. After victory at Wimbledon this summer, Swiatek arrives at Flushing Meadows off the back of a Masters title in Cincinnati and is available at odds of 5/2 to win her second US Open title after her 2022 crown.
USA's Coco Gauff won the title here back in 2023 but crashed out dissapointingly in the round of 16 last year, and will be looking to find her best form after a hugely dissapointing run since her victory at the French Open earlier this year, including a first round defeat at Wimbledon. Gauff is available at odds of 17/2.
Rising talent Mirra Andreeva, still only 18, has made a splash at all of the Grand Slams bar this one, with her best showing so far being a second round showing in 2023 and 2024. She will be confident of at least improving on that here, and can be backed at 14/1.
Other players fancying their chances of Grand Slam glory include big-serving Elena Rybakina (11/1), Naomi Osaka, who won this tournament in 2018 and 2020 (20/1), 2017 finalist Madison Keys (16/1), and British hope Emma Raducanu (28/1), who of course famously won here as a qualifier in 2021. Another potential dark horse is Canadian teen Victoria Mboko, who recently won a Masters title in Canada and is available at 28/1 too.

As always, with Spreadex Sports you have the option of fixed odds and spread betting on tennis. Aside from our full range of fixed odds markets, spread betting on tennis allows the option to bet on markets such as Total Points, Cross-Courts, Match Supremacy, Game Supremacy and much more.
If you decide to spread bet on our outright markets, you would bet on the Outright Index market. This market is settled in the following manner: 60 - Winner, 40 - Runner-Up, 20 - Losing Semi-Final, 10 - Losing Quarter-Final, 5 - Losing Round-of-16, 0 - Other.
This means for example if you bought Jannik Sinner at a starting spread of 34.5 - 37.5 and he wins the title, you would win 22.5x your opening stake. If he was the losing finalist, you would win 2.5x your stake. Or, if you sold at 34.5 and he made a shock exit in the opening round, you would win 34.5x your stake. However, if you bought at 37.5 and he lost in the quarter-final, you would lose 27.5x your original stake and so on.
Please remember - spread betting losses may exceed deposit or initial stake, so please bet responsibly.
