Joe turned to Roisin and said: "Do you want to hear my pledge? You can stick your Coronation up your a***, you can stick your Coronation up your a***."

Many fans were left fuming at their shock remark.

One wrote: "I loved every minute of it. Shame on the Glaswegian couple. Let us Glaswegians down with that vile remark."

A second posted: "Complaint put in about the Scottish couple."

"Watching Gogglebox and nearly broke the TV when Roisin and Joe came on!! Get them off," a third raged.

Many of the cast got into the Coronations spirt and waved Union Jack flags as they watched the historic moment.

While hairdressers Stephen and Daniel wore special slippers for the occasion.

This is not the first time that Gogglebox viewers have been left unimpressed by the Channel 4 show.

Last year the programme was hit with hundreds of Ofcom complaints from fans after an episode showcased explicit content.

Cast members watching on their sofas could barely bring themselves to look at the scenes from AppleTV+ show Roar.

Viewers were horrified when the X-rated scene - involving a woman and a duck performing a sex act - flashed up on the telly.

The moment from Apple TV+ anthology series featured the woman being seduced by the duck and left many of the stars of the show looking traumatised.
