BRITAIN'S Got Talent judges Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon are in the clear after causing a kerfuffle over their choice of outfits during this year's live semi-final shows.

The pair were subject to complaints after members of the public went to broadcast regulator Ofcom to accuse them of wearing too little during the show which was beamed to millions.

Viewers thought their ever-shrinking dresses were inappropriate for the pre-watershed programme, with some even branding them "a pair of slappers".

The regulator confirmed that it received 19 complaints relating to their choice of attire on May 23.

But the media watchdog says they have not breached rules on nudity and therefore are in the clear.

Amanda, 45, and Alesha, 37, pulled out all of the stops to unveil some jaw dropping looks during this year's week long live shows and brought in a team of stylists, make-up artists, and hairdressers to help them perfect their looks.

While the pair went head to head in the sartorial stakes with a series of plunging necklines and dresses split all the way up to the hip, they were not considered to have broken rules by wearing their outfits in a 'sexualised way'.

"We assessed a number of complaints about the suitability of clothing worn by two female judges before the watershed, but won’t be taking the matter forward for investigation," an Ofcom spokesman told Mailonline.

"The dresses worn by the judges did not raise issues under our rules on nudity, and the judges were not portrayed in a sexualised way".

Amanda and Alesha stole the show from Simon Cowell and David Walliams unveiling a series of incredible custom made outfits each night.

Each displaying cleavage and their enviable pins, the pair were also praised by members of the public who enjoyed their fashionable displays.

Amanda was also blasted for wearing a white dress that left little to the imagination.

She told The Sun's Dan Wooton that she took advice from her advisor on what to wear.

She said: “I wasn’t going to wear the white dress and my stylist persuaded me.
“Then I turned to the side to put my earrings on and he yelled: ‘F***ing hell!’ He didn’t realise how high it went. I asked if it was alright and he said: ‘Yeah, because you’ve got a good leg.’”

The blonde bombshell also said that she was worried she may offend her family with her choice of costume.

But that she was relieved to get the thumbs up from her 95-year-old nan after the show.
Amanda explained: “I thought she’d be like, ‘Amanda, you need to cover up dear. You don’t want everyone to see everything, keep it private.’
“But she didn’t, bless her.”
