DAVINIA Taylor told Lorraine Kelly she felt “humiliated” when she lost custody of her son during her battle with alcoholism and post-natal depression.

The former Hollyoaks actress’ son Grey was ordered to stay with his dad, David Beckham’s best mate, Dave Gardner, by a judge in 2010.

It came at a time in Davinia’s life when she was struggling with depression as well as an addiction to alcohol.

Speaking to Lorraine about losing custody of her young son, Davinia, 40, said: “That’s humiliation.

“To be honest, that spurred me on to keep sober and keep on a programme.

“And now obviously I share custody with my ex-husband and everything’s fine. But that was a catalyst.

“That really took me to the depths of depression.”

Davinia and Dave now share custody of Grey and life is getting better for Davinia – who’s running the London marathon this weekend.

During the emotional chat with Lorraine, Davinia thanked her friends and family for supporting her throughout.

She said: “The support I received in those first few years was monumental, and it changed my life completely.

“I think I’d be dead to be perfectly honest. Well I would be dead. I was so terrified.”

Davinia, who played Jude Cunningham in the Channel 4 soap from 1996 until 1998, said this week that running has helped overcome her demons.

She is taking part in the marathon to raise money for charities helping those affected by post-natal depression.
